Hammamet, is the azur sea, the immense beaches of fine white sand, the blue sky, the sun, palm trees and odoriferous orchards of orange trees, bergamot and bigared trees. It is jasmine and orange flowers. Hammamet is a very beautiful touristic city, with luxurious hotels, night clubs, bars, and restaurants.
A new touristic area has been lately built, near the old one, Hammamet-Sud , Yasmine Hammamet, gem of theTunisian tourism.

Georges Sebastian, a Rumanian multimillionaire, who was charmed with the beauty of the city, built a luxurious villa in the typical architectural style of the country, one of the most beautiful and best architectural successes. Some American were also captured by the beauty of the city: Jean and Violet Hensen. World celebrities : André Gide, Roger Martin du Gard, Georges Bernanos, Paul Klee, Frank Lloyd Wright... Maréchal Rommel made of the villa Sebastian his General headquarters...other celebrities chose Hammamet as a city for residence, after Jean-Claude Pascal.

In 1959, the Tunisian state took hold of the Sebastian residence , which became the Centre International Cultural Centre where every summer, the International Festival of Hammamet takes place. It is a prestigious manifestation which gathers the world most famous artists in the fields of music dance and theatre...

Hammamet has no big monuments, but its medina is great. Any visitor will be charmed by its narrow streets and the atmosphere of intimacy there, the friendly and cheerful character of its inhabitants.

The Medina has three gates. The Kasbah was built in the XV century, on the remains of an old fortress of the XII century. One can admire from there the whole city, from a charming café. In the hotels areas, where are the ancient remains of the Pupput city, where we can especially admire the remains of old houses, with private thermal baths and mosaics…

Yasmine-Hammamet

Is the integrated touristic zone. Luxurious hotels, bungalows, residences... on the whole, an accommodation capacity of 25.000 beds. The new Medina, with amusement parks and animation centres, was built exactly in the same style in the smallest details as the ancient Medina. There is also a beautiful marina of 700 loops.
In Hammamet there are two golf fields. And some hotels has magnificent centers of thalassotherapy.
