Around Hammamet :

Cap Bon

The Roman called the region of the Cap Bon « The beautiful promontory ». It has the most fertile soil of the country. Its population of Berber origin. The wars and the invasions brought other groups of people, amongst whom, the most important are the Hilaliens from the East, the Maaouines from Morocco and the Andalusians from Spain.

The richness of the soil, the warmness of the climate, and the dynamism of the population, made of the region a garden above the sea: grapevine, orange trees, lemon trees, bergamot tree, bigarad tree, Jasmine and roses as well as truck farming.

The climate, the large beautiful beaches, the population tradition of hospitality and courteousness attract the visitors as one can see in the touristic areas of Nabeul and Hammamet and the new touristic zone of Yasmine-Hammamet.
Other villages and small cities are attractive as well.

Grombalia

This city is originally an Andalusian village, at the heart of a region of orchard and wine-growing area. An important Italian community lived around this area. The Grapevine Festival is held in September.

Near the city, Aïn Tébournouk, the old Tubernuc, with a water source discovered from the Roman Era. The important archaeological site and vestiges stretching along a big surface area : an old dam, a monumental gate, a forum, the capitol, a Byzantine citadel…

Soliman

This village was invaded by the Andalusians in the XVII century. It has a beautiful beach.

Korbous

This is one of the most picturesque places in the Cap Bon. It is a thermal station from the Roman Era, it received rich Roman from Carthage, who came for Carpis waters. A thermal station was established in the ancient Beys palace. Many mineral sources treat various diseases. A magnificent view on the Gulf of Tunis. A bit farther, beautiful areas for picnics.

Kélibia

Kélibia, the old Clupea, a phenicien than a roman harbour, is famous for its muscat grapes and fine wines. At about 2,5 km from the city, stretches a beautiful beach of fine white sand.
A beautiful Byzantine fortress dominates stands near the sea. It gives a magnificent view over Kélibia to admire a beautiful panorama on the coast.
The White Kélibia is a new seaside resort under establishment.
